Leave It In My Dreams
The Voidz (Julian Casablancas) – Commission Instrumental Remake
"Leave It In My Dreams" is a track by The Voidz, the side project of Julian Casablancas (frontman of The Strokes). Released on the album Virtue (2018), it stands out as one of the most accessible songs in the band's catalog — a dreamy, synth-driven piece with a deceptively simple arrangement that hides subtle complexity in its textures and production choices. The Voidz are known for pushing musical boundaries, blending indie rock, new wave, and experimental electronics.
I enjoy taking on these types of songs because they're outside my usual work. Although it sounds very simple on the surface, recreating this track had its particular challenges. The guitar is not my main instrument, but I did my best to play and achieve — at minimum — a faithful recreation of the notes and feel that each musician brings to the original. The Voidz are a band with very talented and creative musicians, and I appreciate the opportunity I had to make this remake.
I produced this instrumental on commission through , where I offer music production services for artists and content creators worldwide.
