Cristián R. Villagra

Today, I am fully dedicated to music, although it wasn't always the case. During my early years, due to my interest in technology, I focused on programming desktop, web, and later mobile applications, as well as graphic design, particularly in the realm of 3D. This kept me busy working for advertising agencies and various companies across different sectors.

I began programming as a self-taught individual on an Atari 800 XL in the 80s. During that time, my main sources of knowledge were books and magazines that allowed me to learn various concepts and techniques. These experiences helped me understand how to interact with a computer and develop functional programs.

Regarding design, I was interested in giving my programs a visually appealing and less technical look. This sparked my interest in understanding computer graphics technology and learning how to control graphics and movement. The world of 3D became a fascinating challenge for me, even with the limited capabilities of the Atari 800 XL as my tool. This eventually led me to pursue web development and parallel 3D modeling during the 90s and early 2000s.

Music entered my life through an upright acoustic piano that was brought to my home amidst my interest in learning to program. It was an entirely new world for me to be able to hear the sound of a real instrument: the strings, the hammers, and that resonance that lingered for a few seconds, enveloping my head.

In the mid-90s, I had the opportunity to participate in musical groups, and I was blessed to become involved in a recording studio where I worked as a session musician and assistant to the engineer. It was in that context where my first compositions and my debut album came to life.

Throughout the first two decades of the 21st century, I dedicated myself to freelancing in programming and design. However, starting in 2017, I gradually shifted my focus towards music with the aim of devoting myself entirely to composing and producing, both my own songs and for other artists.
