This Privacy Policy explains how Medussa ("the App") handles information. Medussa is a macOS application for visualizing, practicing, recording, editing and quantizing MIDI. It is designed to work entirely on your Mac: it does not require an account, and it does not collect or transmit personal data.

Information We Collect

We do not collect personal information through the App. The App contains no analytics, no ads, no tracking SDKs and no third-party data collection of any kind.

Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores its working data locally on your Mac: your projects, MIDI recordings, edits, app settings and references to recently opened files. This data stays on your device (and in any backups you make) and is never sent to us.

Files and Folders

The App runs inside the macOS App Sandbox. It can only access files and folders that you explicitly open, drag in, or save to. To reopen recent files, the App may keep security-scoped references to them; these references are stored locally and can be cleared by removing the items from the recents list.

MIDI and Audio

The App reads input from the MIDI devices you connect in order to visualize and record your performance, and produces audio output through the device you select. All MIDI and audio processing happens in real time on your Mac. Nothing you play is transmitted anywhere.

Purchases

The App is distributed exclusively through the Mac App Store. All payment processing and billing information is handled by Apple; we do not receive your payment details.

Apple and the App Store

If you download the App from the Mac App Store, Apple may collect information according to Apple's own policies. If you have opted in to share diagnostics with app developers, Apple may provide us with aggregated crash reports; these contain technical information only and no personal data.

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, because the App does not collect personal information at all.
