Pocket-focused funk practice, made simple.
This classic-funk groove sits at 108 BPM with a tight 16th-note hi-hat, punchy kick and a snare locked into the backbeat. It’s relaxed enough to keep your hands loose, yet focused enough to push your riffs forward. The performance stays true to the old-school funk feel: straight groove, tasteful ghost notes and just enough syncopation to keep your ideas moving without crowding your lines.
Use it to write bass hooks, tighten rhythm-guitar comping, practice clav and keys, or rehearse horn stabs with a solid, studio-style drummer underneath. Let the loop run in the background and focus on time, articulation and dynamics—treat it like a session drummer holding the pocket for you as long as you need.
Ideal for songwriting demos, groove and pocket studies, daily warm-ups, live-looping rigs and classroom rhythm work.

This is the revisited version of the main theme I composed for my first album between 1996 and 1997.
